SHANNON'S STORY

A lifetime love of golf

Originally a native of the Washington Area, she was winner of the Junior and Ladies Club Championships at Congressional Country Club. She played her junior golf throughout the Washington Area. A graduate and a scholarship athlete at James Madison, Shannon continued to sharpen her skills winning two college tournaments. During the summers she has competed in nationwide various amateur tournaments including the U. S. Amateur, Women’s North South, Women’s Eastern Amateur, and The Trans National. She was the Maryland State Runner-Up in1989. She captured the title as Maryland State Amateur Champion before turning professional in 1991.


As a professional, Shannon has competed on various tours throughout the United States including the Futures Tour, The Central Florida Challenge and the Pacific Coast Tour. In 1995, she was one of 25 women selected to represent the United States on the Women’s Asian Tour and in 1996 earned exempt status on the Women’s European Tour. Shannon moved to Denver, Colorado in 1999. 2 Months later she won the Colorado Open and was runner up in 2000 and 2002. She has finished 4th in the LPGA Teaching Division National Championship twice. In October of 2002, Shannon won the LPGA Central Section Championship which earns her a spot in her first LPGA event, the McDonalds LPGA Championship in Dover, DE in June.


Most recently Shannon was the instructional coordinator at Foothills Golf Course in Denver. She has tremendous teaching experience in working with Junior Golfers. She was the Coordinator of the Gold Crown Junior Golf team at Foothills and the Varsity and Junior Varsity Golf Coach at Colorado Academy High School for the past 5 years. She introduced and created classes for Pee-Wees (juniors ages 4-8) as well as teens and was instrumental in the junior golf program and junior camps. In addition to her junior golf experiences, Shannon created many new programs for Women at Foothills and brought in several outside speakers such as fitness expert Mary Jo Elder and Premier Women’s Club fitter Pat Lange. She is actively involved in the EWG chapter in Denver and is the SW chapter representative for instruction.  She was responsible for training and hiring new staff members and created a training manual for staff evaluation and education.


Shannon Currently splits her time between Port St Lucie, Florida and Steamboat Springs, CO. She is working on additional certification from both the LPGA and the PGA in Golf Operations and Instruction. Shannon has an abundance of experience in the golf business in both the public and private sectors. She looks forward to bringing her skills and expertise and sharing them with you.
